Our Story

US Electric opened its doors in Seattle in 2017 and started as a couple of guys servicing a couple of vessels. Known for responsiveness, high quality work and engineering prowess, the company very quickly established itself as the premier Marine Electrical Service provider in the Pacific Northwest. Word in the industry spread quickly and the company grew rapidly.

Along the way, the company deliberately and methodically recruited more good electricians, giving it even more capacity to expand its scope up and down the West Coast. The company regularly services vessels in the key West Coast ports of Portland, San Franciso, Oakland, Long Beach, and Honolulu. Engineers from US Electric have even been tasked with jobs in China.

In the summer of 2022, the company brought in Chris Tarrach as CEO to scale it to the next level. What had started as a couple guys servicing a couple vessels had blossomed into a thriving business in need of a fully-built back office and executive leadership to manage it all. An SVP Business Development with 30 years’ industry experience, Damian Clarke, was recruited and hired. Key roles in Purchasing, Electrical Design, Finance and Program Management have been filled. More electricians with a wider skillset have been added to the team. The company has a solid foundation built and is poised for growth.

US Electric continues to be known for high-quality work and responsiveness. That reputation is hard-earned and is the result of executing at a high-level, one project at a time. That reputation traces back to the company’s roots in 2017 and it continues on today.

US Electric continues to be known for high-quality work and responsiveness. That reputation is hard-earned and is the result

Meet The Team

Chris brings a wealth of varied business experience to US Electric and has served as CEO of the company since August, 2022.  At US Electric, he is both an owner in the business and the operating partner.  Chris’ career mission is to build and invest in best-in-class businesses.  The focus here is to build on what prior ownership started and to build US Electric into the absolute best-in-class Marine Electrical Services and Engineering company in North America.

Going back over 30 years of his career, Chris has a deep well of corporate experience having been a 2-time CFO with successful exits. In one of those stints, he also doubled as the Head of Corporate Development within a large public company. Spearheading that company’s M&A activity, Chris oversaw the closing of 10 acquisitions that cumulatively totaled over $1 billion of notional value.  Walking back in his timeline, he ran a hedge fund in the 2000’s, successfully beating the S&P 500 returns by over 500 bps annually.  Prior to that, he started his career as a very successful options floor trader for 6 years in Chicago and Philadelphia, parlaying his winnings in trading into starting his own business at the age of 29. Well-rounded, Chris has been in leadership roles in big companies and small, and has worked for himself and worked for others. He is comfortable in any environment and is a results-driven executive.

All career roads led to US Electric.  Everything lined up and the timing was right in 2022 as US Electric needed executive leadership to scale the company, and Chris was looking for his next opportunity. Chris brings a passion for building businesses and more importantly, building people. In the two years since his arrival, he has doubled the size of the team, surrounded himself with electrical experts, and implemented better training across the organization all with the corporate purpose of “Helping people achieve their potential”.

Under Chris’ leadership, US Electric is poised to go to the next level.

SVP Business Development

Damian Clarke

Damian has had two main loves outside of his family life: Electricity, and the Sea. Becoming a Marine Electrician has allowed him to unify those two concepts and carve out a rewarding career that has spanned more than 30 years.

After four years of honorable service in the United States Army Infantry, and being honorably discharged in 1991, Damian returned to his hometown of Santa Barbara, California. Throughout the 1990s, he attended college, commercial fished, and earned the coveted title of Journey Wireman in IBEW Local 413.  In 1998 he moved to Seattle with the sole purpose of becoming a commercial marine electrician and navigations & communications electronics expert; to master the theory and practical applications of all things “Electrical” onboard any commercial vessel. This goal is still being realized.

In 2000, Damian passed the FCC General Radiotelephone Operator License (GROL) exam. From 2000 to 2010, he earned and maintained the American Boating & Yacht Council (ABYC) Electrical Technicians certificate. In 2006, he passed the Washington Department of Labor and Industries (LNI) exams for EL01 Journeyman Electrician and AD01 General Electrical Administrator. These two licenses combine to give the holder all the rights and privileges of a Master Electrician.

Since 2000, he has worked in the commercial marine industry for several different companies and held many titles, including Field Electrician, Fleet Electrician, Team Leader, General Manager, Vice President of Operations, Design Engineer, Port Engineer, Owner/Operator, Head of Electrical Engineering, and now, his most coveted position, Senior Vice President of Business Development, for US Electric.

Damian credits his mother and father for endowing him with a strong work ethic and the absolute necessity of “cracking the books” and studying. Dad was a physicist and Mom was a Registered Nurse who also held-down the fort and raised 5 kids who clearly understood the old school values of honor, integrity, loyalty, and taking your lumps with your chin up.

“This career has given me and my family a great life, and I am eternally grateful.”     -Damian Clarke.

Director of Operations

Michael Raimondo

Michael started his career in the maritime industry as a humble commercial fisherman at a quaint coastal port town in southern Rhode Island. After many hard years of lobstering he could no long contain his ambitions. With his hunger for knowledge as his guide, he decided to expand his expertise in the industry by attending the world-renowned International Yachting Restoration School in the sailing capitol of the world, Newport, Rhode Island. As a leader in his class and graduating with a focus in marine electrical engineering & electronics he secured one of the most coveted positions at the oldest and most respected marine electrical service and engineering company in Rhode Island.

He did not stop there. Michael quickly excelled through the career process starting as an advanced installer and team leader. Then, swiftly he moved into an electrical system design role where he showed expert skill, lithium battery conversions being one of many. While working at this full-time position, he designed an “Introduction to Lithium Batteries” course for IYRS that he would teach in his spare time. Michael was again promoted and moved into a management role leading and guiding his teams to turn his electrical system designs into reality.

He has harnessed that expertise and experience and is ready to achieve many great successes as the Senior Program Manager of US Electric. In this role with the company, he will oversee operations and relations with our current accounts, as well as develop relations with new accounts. He will build and oversee day-to-day systems to manage the company from field and office operations to facilities and warehouse oversight, including IT infrastructure. Michael will be responsible for growing the business and ensuring all the company projects flow seamlessly.
